Rude Awakening!
61
A poem...
Sensuous arms of sleep still encompassing body and soul.
Mind in cozy oblivion.
Coax the alarm clock into some extra snooze time.
Eyelids heavier than lead.
Joints and muscles revolting against this rude awakening.
Timer operated coffeemaker.
Caffeine vapour sensor alarm system activated.
Body springs to life.

Nice and well shared poem.
Ah yes, I can relate to every word in this. I am now typing before the coffee vapour so it's very slow going, what with all the backspacing and correcting. hehehe
Thanks for the morning smile - I enjoyed your poem very much!
I now realise that I have become your slave and that having become addicted to your style, I must have a daily dose of your splendid writing :-))
I found a new way to explain it all, LOL : )
I loved this, once upon a time i found in hard to get up in the morning, then a friend who is into motivational stuff said why do not just jump up and put on your happy shoes... well some days I do... laughs

Excellent Poem, I used to feel the same and used to have coffee makers start automatically :) Initially I had too many problems waking up, usually takes an hour to be in equilibirium, but my brother suggested this simple exercise, which I do every day keeps me awake and sharp, without having to take coffee.
Lovely! The first line, especially! :)
Very short and very sweet Zsuzsy..
I get woken up everyday very rudely yert lovingly with a cat paw smacking my forehead every morning!
We all need that coffee boost from time to time. great poem.
I get up when I wake do 30 mins of exercise, shave and shower and go to work at my desk.
Val and I go for an hours walk some where between 11.00 AM and 3.00 pm for one hour. Sooner or later, when Val cooks the dinner, I do the dishes, more work and go to bed about 11.00 PM
That's a good parallel, Zsuzsy, if I got it right. I'm activated by the smell of tea in the morning, or coffee, depending upon my coffeemaker, my wife.
Wasn't a rude awakening at all.Body springing up should give you all the energy for the day's work.Great poem.
This completely tickles me.
I taught early morning Seminary to High School students for a couple of years. Seminary is religious instruction for our young people. It started at 6:10 am, Monday through Friday, throughout the school year.
I developed an interesting relationship with morning myself. Ugh!

Love the "cosy oblivion" - pretty dreams are made of this! Sighhhhhhhhhh
Smiles and Light
it's adorable and I'm delighted to see you writing poetry. :)
Love it!
I'm jealous of your time-operated coffee-maker. :p
You have one of the most unique styles I've come across, I have to say, I love it!
Tick tock, tick tock, the time bomb
Of life is about to explode - BOOM!
"Wake up, dear," it says...
sounds like morning to me,
