Haiku

Haiku at it's worst?

Each of my children including my son-in-law are "fun-poets" each of their birthday cards etc. are always full of side-splitting rhyming verses. They have not attempted my Haiku style yet. I'm probably not following all the rules that go along with this type of poetry, but it sure is fun.

A poet I'll never be.

Present a bakers dozen;

in trade for a smile.

Here at Hubpages

comments, thumbs up, never down

a writers delight.

-2-

Poor Dumbos ordeal;

be ridiculed something fierce

'cause he was all ears.

-3-

Hun's take out menu;

head on a silver platter,

big pig in a poke.

-4-

Don't pee on my leg

and then tell me it's raining

that be a snow job.

-5-

I'll meet you half-way

if you just admit you're wrong

I'll admit I'm right.

-6-

Counting calories

diet, a four letter word,

those who indulge bulge.

-7-

In over his head

bit off more than he can chew

in need of support.

-8-

In this life, mistakes

are mostly referred to

as experience.

-9-

All good things must end;

man's birth, beginning of death,

the pessimists thoughts.

-10-

It's so sad but true

I'm a'feared, I've been fleeced

that crooks 'shear' delight.

-11-

Bounce, bounce welcome home

pitter patter, puppy feet

slurp; big wet pooch smooch.

-12-

The right word to write,

hides in thesaurus deep,

just a play with words.

-13-

Just below zero

bundled up in my snowsuit

I have to go pee.

Now I can tell my gang that

I've done my share of poetry.

(I promise to keep my day-job).

Joy56, writing haiku actually any type of poetry is very hard for me because I'm always a gal of many words. Thanks for taking a look and for commenting

This is a fun lil' ditty. I've never been one for haiku, or any particular "format," I'm all about freeverse myself. ;)

Thanks Mr.M for taking a look.

The way I look at things, the more I goof up the better I'll be able to handle it next time.

I knew there was something wrong.

I have had too much experience.

I wonder what I can do about it?

Great hub thank you.
