For one more day by Mitch Albom The Book Review

My older daughter always seems to be hunting down something special for my birthday. This year as always she found just the right item.

The book ";FOR ONE MORE DAY"; by Mitch Albom is the finest of quality reading. Unfortunately a quick read as it's less then two hundred pages.

The back of the jacket praise was writen by James McBride, author of the Color of Water. He writes: "If you had a chance, just one chance, to go back and fix what you did wrong in life, would you take it? And if you did, would you be big enough to stand it? Mitch Albom, in this new book, once again demonstrates why he is one of my favorite writers: a fearless explorer of thewishfull and magical, he is alsoa devout believer in the power of love. For one more day will make you smile. It will make you wistfull. It will make you blink back tears of nostalgia. But most of all, it will make you believe in the eternal power of a mother's love.";

There is not too much more I could add to this great ";praise"; except that it will lead you to a totally different avenue then what you expect. The book is better then Mr McBrides write up.

I think only because somehow Mitch Albom's words give us the freedom to interject our own closet-hidden-ghosts.

I was able to transfer some of my families background into his pages and this gave the book a bigger "kapow" then maybe Mitch Albom anticipated when writting this book.

The book For one more day is a really well told story of the life-long and beyond relationship of a Mom and her Son. It gives him chances to for explanations, and to seek forgiveness somewhere between the two worlds, between this life and the next.

This is a book that will sit on my most cherished shelf to grab of and on when life seems a bit too hectic. To inspire me to appreciate those I love even more.

I recommend this book, and as I said at the beginning the only disappointing thing about it, it was too short...

Mitch Albom is the author of the international bestsellers The five people you meet in heaven and Tuesdays with Morrie as well as other six books. He also writes screenplays and stageplays.
