BOOK REVIEW!

Last week I was browsing on my bookshelf looking for some ‘lite-night' reading and came across a book I hadn't read since I was fifteen. It is written in Hungarian. This book is for all readers young and old, married or single. It has something for every taste, from wonder to murder, to natural disasters, to love and hate. Everyone will be able to relate and identify with the contents and is everything a person could want in a book. Daily reading will enhance your life. You say you don't read Hungarian.

Woops, did I forget to mention this book is also available in English? Actually it has been translated to just about every language there is. You guessed right I'm talking about the book of books, the Bible. Now when I said I hadn't read that particular book, I meant I hadn't read the Hungarian version. When we came to Canada it took just about all our time and effort to learn English. As hard as it was Mom made me read the English edition. It's amazing of how comforting I found it, to re-read the familiar words in my childhood's way. Reading a passage or two of the bible is a great way to get into a God oriented frame of mind. In today's hustle and bustle way of life a little ‘time out' with the holy book, one could discover there is peace to be found within the pages of the Bible.

I'm not trying to ram the holy book down anyones throat, I just wonder if we, all of us living now in 'modern time' haven't lost sight of the big picture. In my youth, bible study was a concrete, had to be...no if, and's or but's about it... How enforcing about religion are todays parents? Is it enough for parents only to showcase a clean and wholesome life, without the actual foundation of a church? Will they be able to relate to the Bible? I think children don't need the hell and brimstone...God fearing versions. Wouldn't they all benefit from the peace of mind God's words can bring?

I firmly believe and it matters not if ones holy book is called the Bible, Torah, Bhagavad Gita, Tipitaka, Koran or ...as long as there is a holy book to follow...It will give the peace of mind that there is a better life waiting for us all...
